1 Chinese health ministry sends 10 medical teams to quake-hit areas

BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- China's Health Ministry said Monday it had sent 10 emergency medical teams to quake-hit Wenchuan County in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The teams comprised medical and epidemic prevention experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and local health bureaus of Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangdong and Shandong, a ministry spokesman said. continue~

5 China welcomes foreign quake aid

BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- China expresses welcome and gratitude for the earthquake relief aid from the international society, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said here Tuesday at a regular press conference.
Many countries and international organizations have shown their solace promptly in various forms soon after the Wenchuan earthquake, and expressed their willingness to offer assistance to the Chinese government and people, Qin told the press.
Chinese relevant parties have opened special channels for receiving foreign aid. China welcomes aid from international society and is willing to keep contacts with foreign nations and organizations, he said.

Wenchuan: the earthquake epicentre, population 112,000, 159km from capital city of sichuan, chengdu.

Thousands of people were reported killed when China's worst earthquake for 30 years struck a densely populated area in Sichuan province yesterday afternoon at 2.28pm. The massive quake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, flattened schools, offices and houses in the southwestern province, and caused widespread damage in nearby Gansu and Yunnan provinces as well as the sprawling municipality of Chongqing. This earthquake was so terrible which affected almost 70% of China. The map on top which shows the provinces was directly affected. People in Places like Shanghai which is still has certain distance from Wen chun also could feel the quake. The quake was so strong that tremors were felt as far away as Thailand, Vietnam and Pakistan.

Compared to the previous Tangshang 7.8 magnitude earthquake where some 240,000 died, the government shows complete sincerity and transparency which enhance faith and hope of Chinese people. The latest update I view from this press is at 1635pm. It shows the death toll in Sichuan has increased to nearly 10,000 and reported 60,000 uncontactable. The figure increased by 1500 within 5 hours. The worst hit area is yet to be contacted as all the major roads and railways were completely destroyed during the quake, some other areas were clogged with terrible traffic, the phone lines were also cut off. In Chengdu, it crashed telephone networks as well and hours later left parts of the city of 10 million in darkness.Government sent air force troops to the worst hit areas but failed to land due to the terrible weather condition. Yet another Nearly 20,000 soldiers, police and reservists were quickly sent to the disaster area. Premier Wen Jiabao, a geologist by training, called the quake "a major geological disaster," and traveled to the disaster area to oversee rescue and relief operations.

People in other major cities who felt the tremors gathered outside office building .

I was MSN with one of my Friend in Chengdu,China. She was in her office in front of her desk. Suddenly she told me she felt giddy and seems like the floor is shaking. Next min she msg me saying that there is earthquake and they have to evacuate the aquare downstairs. I didn't expect it it so serious at that time unitl I read the online news last night. I was shocked when I see those photos of the victims who were crying for help. But I am pleased to see the Premier Weng made his way to the worst hit areas for the people as well the quick reaction of Chinese government this time. The hourly updates and the informations online showed us that the government is trying to be transparent and sincere towards their people.

I also called my relatives in China, glad to know that they are ok and was not really affected by the earthquake.

Now what we need to do is to pray and offer up our help, no matter in what ways.

Update-the meet up

Few weeks back I met up with Jas and jer to collect my Asako's essay book. I did wrote an entry about it. Actually we took group photos on that day but for certain reasons (ok, I am lazy)I did not post it here yet. here it is.

Jas' mom and Aunt and Jas were at the last row, Jer and I were in front. haha. We all wore our so call FC T-shirt colour(black) except jer, so we made fun of her by calling her TOP. It was so fun meeting up with them and watching DVD together.

Met Jas again last week, she helped me order 2 magazines online. Amazon is efficient, sent us our stuff within like a week. We had our dinner at Ajisen, I love the Ramen there. > <

University Application

I have just sent in my application for RMIT. But I still think it's not so wise to apply now. They may grant you 0.5 year less exemption as compared to apply in the beginning of the year. Quite frustrated about this idea.
Anyway, this is no point to worry about, worst scenario wait until 2009 Feb intake loh. But I really hope I can go together with James. ^^

I was sick for 2 days, had fever. Weather was terrible these few days in Singapore. The temperature hit 35 the day before yesterday, stuffy, humid. I seriously dislike Singapore's weather despite the last and first month of the year. MC 2 days, rather boring staying at home. So yesterday I desperately wanna go out and I did go out to meet JR at AMK. Didnt go far la, suppose to go for friend's birthday celebration yet it was cancelled last min. It is not I am mean or what, I do not like last minute changes. chatted with Jr for quite a while without realising the clock was hitting 1am. Still gotta work today. Enjoy talking to her, maybe we are both Gemini our characters are so amazingly similar,she can understand my situation well and I also do understand her worry sand concern.
(I am in office now tying this with my eyes partially close. the Medicine was so damn strong. Gonna go out and tk a rest fist. ZZZzzzZZZZzzzzz

【小狗出售】-touching story

一個商店老闆在門上釘了一個牌子，上面寫著【小狗出售】。這個招牌對小孩有相當的吸引力。過了不久，一個小男孩出現在招牌前～問說：『你這些小狗要賣多少錢呢？』店主人回答：『都是從30至50元不等。』

小男孩把手伸到口袋裏，掏出了一些硬幣，『我只有2.37元，我可以看看它們嗎？』店老闆笑笑，並吹了口哨叫狗過來。

從狗屋中跑出了一隻店老闆叫它【女士】的狗，走廊上五隻小狗也跟著跑來，其中一隻小狗明顯的遠遠落在後面？小男孩立刻注意到那隻落在後面跛腳的小狗，

他問店老闆：『這隻小狗怎麼了？』店主人解釋說這隻小狗出生時，獸醫診斷它的骨盆腔發育不健全，這一生都註定要跛腳。小男孩顯得很高興的說：『那就是我要買的小狗』，

店主人說：『這隻小狗不用買，如果你要的話我把它送給你。』小男孩有點難過，他看著店主人的眼睛說：『我不要你送給我，它跟其他的小狗一樣值得每一分錢，我會付全額給你。我先付你2.37元，以後每個月付50分，直到付清為止。』

店主人反對的說：『你真的不用買這隻小狗，孩子！因為它不會像其他的小狗一樣正常的跑跳和玩耍。』

小男孩彎下身來捲起褲管，露出嚴重扭曲，用金屬支架支撐住的殘障左腿。他看著店主人說：『我自己也無法正常的跑跳，
所以我知道這隻小狗需要有人了解關愛它。』

店主人緊咬著下唇，眼中湧出了淚水，他微笑著說：『孩子，我衷心希望與祈禱，這裏的每一隻小狗都有像你一樣的主人。』


在一生中，你是誰其實並不代表什麼，應該在乎的是否有人欣賞你，接受你而且無條件的愛你。真心的朋友是當世界其他人都離你而去的時候，仍陪你併肩而行。
